Worker Feedback

Dear Country Counselling SIL Staff,

I am writing to thank all of you in the SIL Program so much for the patient, supportive and flexible care you have provided to (SIL youth) for the last year and a half. It is my opinion that a large part of her extraordinary positive growth and development over this past year can be accredited to you and your staff, for your willingness to stand by her through those first few months where her behaviour could have justifiably been cause to discharge her from your Program. Thank you again for playing such an important role in (SIL youth’s) life and I wish you the best success in all your future endeavours. (CAS Case Manager)

The true measure of success of your SIL program can be seen when the teens you support emerge as responsible adults in their community. I am delighted to see the growth and development of responsibility that (SIL youth) now exhibits.

I really had my doubts that she would be successful with an independent living plan! I know that without your Program’s support (SIL youth) would never have had a chance. Thank you for your flexibility, patience and faith in working with (SIL youth), and I look forward to our next Independence Plan of Care meeting.
Sincerely, (CAS Caseworker)

Hi, (SIL Support Worker Name)

….you have worked so hard with (SIL youth) and now we’re seeing the results. I always hoped that (SIL youth) would finally get his act together and actually go to school and try. He is so happy with his apartment, and his freedom. How’s the cooking lessons coming? (SIL youth) says he cooks a lot of microwave pizzas, good for him. Also, (SIL youth) has court coming up, can I arrange for you to do an extra few hours with him for a few weeks until its over? See you at the next plan of care. (Caseworker)

…… Hi, I just got back from (SIL youth’s) new apartment. Its small, but it looks great. I love the futon bed. (SIL youth) is so proud of her new place. She showed me the new pots and pans, dishes, bedding and everything. She was so excited. She told me that you two are going grocery shopping tomorrow. Could you also arrange to help her with her laundry cleaning soon?

She was living out of green garbage bags when she was AWOL and I don’t know when her clothes were cleaned last. I’m so glad (SIL youth’s) in the SIL program, she is much more settled and happy now. The group home she was in tried, but she just wasn't going to live in a group home anymore. I think this is really good for her. I will call you tomorrow. Bye for now. (CAS Caseworker)
